Terms of Use

The terms for using Finula's budgeting, household and optional AI features.

Version 2026-10-10.1 · Last updated 10 October 2026

1. Provider and scope

Finula is provided by Peter Šinál. Correspondence address: Zápotočná 416/14, 028 01 Trstená, Slovensko. Contact: peter.sinal2002@gmail.com. These terms apply to the Finula app. Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing.

Use the service only if you can enter a valid agreement under the laws that apply to you or have the necessary parent/guardian authorisation. Applicable mandatory consumer rights are not excluded by these terms.

2. What Finula does

Finula helps you record income and expenses, organise budgets, track goals, share authorised household finances and use optional receipt recognition, AI chat and savings suggestions. Features, usage limits and available subscription plans are shown in the app and purchase screen.

Finula is not a bank, payment service or investment adviser. Recording savings or a transfer in the app does not move money in your bank account. Forecasts and suggestions are informational estimates, not personalised regulated financial, legal, tax or investment advice. We do not guarantee a savings amount or goal completion date.

3. Account and acceptable use

Provide accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials and device secure, and use only your own account or an account you are authorised to use. Notify support if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not share another person's sign-in credentials to join a household; use household invitations.

Do not upload content you lack rights or authority to process, violate applicable law, attempt to bypass permissions or subscription limits, interfere with security, abuse AI services or use Finula to harm others. You retain your rights in the information you submit and authorise processing necessary to provide your requested features, subject to your privacy choices.

4. Household sharing

A household founder manages membership and permissions. Members may access and edit shared information according to the permissions granted. Consider who can view records before entering personal notes or uploading receipts. Joining with an invitation does not make the founder the owner of your separate sign-in account.

A member may leave the household using the app. Leaving does not automatically erase all previously contributed shared records. Changes to shared records, member removal or deletion of a founder account may affect other members. Make an export before deleting important records and contact support if you need help with a privacy request.

5. AI features and receipt accuracy

AI chat, receipt recognition and AI optimisation require separate explicit permission for sending the disclosed data to OpenAI. You may refuse or withdraw permission in Profile → Data and privacy without losing ordinary budgeting, goals and manual expenses. The AI section of our Privacy Policy explains what is sent and provider retention.

AI can misunderstand names, quantities, discounts, dates, currencies, personal circumstances or financial information. Check the original receipt, currency and total, and review suggestions before saving or acting. Currency conversions are estimates and may differ from your bank's actual rate, fees or settlement amount. A suggested expense reduction is an option, not a judgement that a purchase was unnecessary. The app does not automatically implement a bank transfer or purchase decision.

6. Subscriptions, renewal and purchases

Some features require a paid subscription. Before confirming a purchase, the app-store purchase flow displays the price, currency, billing period and any trial or introductory offer. Prices and taxes depend on your store region. Do not rely on example prices from a screenshot.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple App Store or Google Play and normally renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant store before renewal under its terms. A trial or introductory period, if offered, converts to the displayed paid plan unless cancelled as specified in the purchase flow. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal; access remains available for the already paid period, subject to store terms.

Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings. Signing out, uninstalling Finula or deleting your Finula account does not cancel the store subscription. Restore purchases in the subscription screen using the store account that made the purchase. Restoration verifies an existing purchase; it is not a subscription reset or a new free trial.

Refund requests and billing disputes follow the relevant store's process and applicable consumer law. Nothing here limits statutory withdrawal, refund or other consumer rights. Future price changes are governed by the store's notification and consent requirements.

7. Availability and limitations

The service depends on an internet connection and third-party systems. Some cached information may be available offline, but AI, new authentication, purchases and server synchronisation require connectivity. We may change features, perform maintenance or enforce proportionate security and usage limits. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We are responsible to the extent required by applicable law. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer remedies. You should independently verify information before important financial decisions and keep appropriate records outside the app.

8. Suspension, ending use and deletion

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, fraud, security risks or serious breaches, and will provide an explanation where practicable and lawful. Contact support to challenge an error. You may stop using the app and request account deletion in Profile → Data and privacy. Resolve household membership if required, or ask support for help. Cancel any store subscription separately.

9. Apple licence and other services

For the iOS app, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These service terms do not replace Apple's licence or store purchase terms. Google Play purchases are also subject to Google's applicable store terms. Apple and Google are not providers of Finula's financial suggestions.

10. Changes, complaints and applicable law

We identify updates with a date/version and give appropriate notice of material changes. Changes do not remove accrued rights or override required consent for AI processing or store price changes.

Contact the provider above for support or complaints. Applicable mandatory law and consumer protections in your country continue to apply, including rights to use relevant consumer authorities and available dispute-resolution processes. Nothing in these terms requires you to give up a court or forum available to you under mandatory law.
